The Healing Arts Center was established by Elisabeth Rose Wilds to be a sanctuary of healing energy for adults and youths to foster personal growth and transformation through various healing arts programs.
Since April 2009, The Healing Arts Center has administered a Healing Arts Clinic at Covenant House New York for employees and youths through private appointments on a bi-weekly basis.
The Healing Arts Center offers workshops, as well as group and one-on-one classes based on The Know Your Energetic Body program, which is designed to create awareness of the mind-body connection and empower participants to learn how to self-regulate their emotional states to achieve a calm mind, deeper states of relaxation and to experience peace. In addition, we teach stress management and mindfulness classes for Covenant House Regional Training Center's Job Readiness and GED programs. In March 2013, we introduced the well-renowned ".b" mindfulness-based program for teens (developed in the U.K.) to the GED program.
Teaching Mindfulness - Walking A Spiritual Path
This workshop delves into mindfulness practices from traditional theory to an energetic approach designed to promote a deeper understanding of the practice. Participants learn how to use energetic techniques to teach others about the mind-body connection. Mindfulness philosophy is discussed in the context of the healing arts and healing space, specifically the practice's impact on energetic frequency and how this understanding is key to responding properly to behavioral responses triggered by the practice. Participants will engage in activities which demonstrate the role the mind plays in setting frequency to achieve a new perspective on the concepts of resistance and creative adjustment. Participants will use the energetic body as a visual guide to learn how to direct the mind and enter relaxed states, and as a diagnostic tool to help create healthy mental patterns for energetic support through challenges.
This workshop is highly recommended for parents, caretakers, healing arts practitioners and traditional mindfulness teachers. It shows a "new" way of working with mindfulness practices that is both visual and very engaging. These techniques have been used successfully with children and at-risk teens, as well as adults. These techniques have also been helpful for youth with attention deficit disorders. It is a wonderful framework for working with the mind and yields immediate results. Participants will feel empowered as they practice directing subtle energies to rebalance the energetic system and experience states of calmness and peace.
Elisabeth Wilds has been teaching these techniques for over three years to at-risk youth at Covenant House NY, an international homeless youth not-for-profit organization with great success. Not only do the youth experience states of peace, but they develop an understanding of the mind-body connection that allows them to choose peace and calm over anger. Many youth have found these techniques life changing.
Children's Book Readings & Activities
This workshop is designed for those working with Clients who want to be an active participant in their own healing and personal development, as well as for teenagers and children. These techniques support mindfulness-based educational programs by reinforcing the concept of the mind-body connection in a very tangible and visual way that promotes personal empowerment.
These techniques have been successfully used in the U.S. with at-risk teenagers and young adults. This workshop also gives the healing arts practitioner tools to use with Clients that may suffer from anxiety, as well as attention deficit disorders. These techniques are easily applied and garner an immediate benefit. They also develop and strengthen mindsight, as well as improve emotional intelligence.
Techniques for Teaching Mindfulness - A Healing Arts Approach
This lecture introduces many of the concepts in our newly released book 'Teaching Mindfulness to Children & Teens' but goes a step beyond by demonstrating healing arts techniques to assist the understanding of the mind-body connection. These techniques are wonderful tools that encourage self-regulation and personal empowerment.

Elisabeth wrote this book with the advice of 7 and 8-year-old students at Atrium School, noting, "These children wanted a book on friendship that also dealt with being left out and excluded." One child commented, "I will love the story most if Cookie learns something in the end... one of those hard to learn things that makes things better with friends." These children's pearls of wisdom are included as an afterword.
Wilds comments further, "To bring a new perspective to the children's friendship issues, Cookie sees them through the eyes of the Green Dragon. This perspective shocks Cookie into understanding that many of the rules creating her anxiety are what she labels as 'children rules' and from that point forward, she begins to question the 'children's rules' real authority over her. Ultimately, Cookie conquers these rules through a combination of sheer determination and some mindfulness practices, which support her as she moves forward into a healthier space."

The guided meditation CDs take the listener on journeys to healthier ways of being in the world. Each CD in the series focuses on the major developmental issues of one of the seven major chakras.
